It's A...

Well, we won't be having another one of these.

Or of these.

No more pretty little dresses.

No more sweet pink outfits.

Because we are having a boy.  A boy!  Now I have to adjust to the world of sports and superheroes.  Not that it will be too much of an adjustment since my husband is all about that already.  So here's to some new fun!

The great name debate has already begun!

A Wordless Wednesday

Not Eventful!

Today, the girls got to play with some paper dolls that Joel brought home from work for them.  They drew "beach scenes" for the dolls and we taped them to the wall.  They made their dolls talk and play in front of them and then just mostly ran around the house being silly with the dolls.  I tried to take a picture of it, but it kept turning out blurry, probably because the move so much!

Tonight we made Pioneer Woman's Blueberry Crumb Cake.  It is so good!  I really recommend making this.  We will probably have it for breakfast as well as eating it for dessert!

We had a busy, but (thankfully) relatively uneventful day.  I'm just about ready to fall asleep now!

Yay! Pictures!

Great news!  We borrowed my parents' memory card reader so we can copy our pictures to the computer again!  Yay!

Today, the girls found Joel's peanuts from the baseball game he went to yesterday so they were enjoying opening them and eating them.  Pnut had to do most of the opening.  Pilly kept licking the outside of the shells.  Yuck!  Then when we were outside, they decided to leave some for the squirrels.  So we are probably going to have some well-fed squirrels around!

Pilly is doing wonderfully with potty training!  She went on the potty all day and stayed dry last night and at nap.  She is consistently staying dry at nap every day so I think I will be able to easily transition her out of diapers there.  I'm not sure about nighttime...it is a little bit more of a risk!

The girls were supposed to be upstairs (you know it's not good when it starts like that!) listening to a Jungle Jam tape in their room.  After the story had been on for a while, Pilly calls down, "I need more wipes."  I moved quickly up the stairs to discover that she had filled the toilet with a brand new roll of toilet paper that she unraveled.  Gross.  So I got to clean that up:)  I laughed about it later, but not then!

Whew, I'm ready for some rest.  I worked a lot today.  I'm trying to get back to where I was before those 7 long weeks off, but it takes me longer with these different accounts.  So have a good night!

The Season is Over

Well, the team didn't win the play-offs so no hair or beard cut for Joel.  Boo!  However, they had a wonderful season, and there is always next year!  I enjoy going to softball and getting out of the house, but it will be nice to have weeknights at home again!

In exciting news, Pilly peed and pooped in the potty today!  She told me she had to go both times.  I don't even take her every 30 minutes anymore.  I guess she was just ready this time!  I think I will segue into not wearing diapers at night once she has got the hang of it during the day.  I had Pnut in them for a long time at night until suddenly one day it just hit me that that was kind of silly!

So I'm tired tonight.  It was a long day and really humid at the game, which always makes me tired.  Have a good night!

What's Up

Pnut got burned out on VBS last week and ended up with a headache and fever on Friday.  She still has the fever.  This is almost identical to what she had in April, but I can't remember how long it lasted.  I did call the doctor today, and he said he didn't think she needed to be seen unless it continued longer.  Hopefully it won't!  I bought some immune support syrup tonight because we were out so I am going to start giving that to her. 

Because she was sick, the girls and I couldn't go to the all-day softball tournament on Saturday.  That was a long day!  That tournament had nothing to do with our league one, it was just a thing that the two teams combined to compete in.  So Joel was gone from about 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 at night.  Looong day.  But we did have a success!  Pilly has been potty training since last Tuesday, and she pooped in the potty on Saturday.  She actually told me she had to go and did.  That is the only time she has gone in the potty at all.  No pee.  She seems to possess an amazing ability to hold it until nighttime.  She doesn't even go during nap in her diaper every day.  I'm trying to give her juice to get her to drink more, but I don't think it is working.  She had a few accidents last week but hasn't had any more for a few days.  I don't know what to do with her.  We are just going to keep on going.  I know she can do it!

Tonight's softball game ended up being canceled because of rain.  This was to be the final game if they won and Joel was to have his haircut.  It poured for like 15 minutes and left big puddles all over the infield so they couldn't play.  Hopefully they will get to tomorrow, but it is supposed to rain again.  We need to play because the tension just builds up more and more!

VBS

Joel is helping with VBS at our church this year, and the girls got to go tonight.  Pnut also went last night.  She really enjoyed it and learned a lot so when Pilly wanted to go tonight, we thought we would let her try.  She might not be allowed to go back until Friday because she was pretty tired!  It is definitely a little bit past bedtime...by like 2 hours! 

We had our first official day of potty training today.  There is no stopping this time.  Pilly is big enough, and she seems to have excellent control.  She didn't go in the potty at all, but only had one accident, which isn't too bad for the first day.  She just stubbornly holds it all day!

Tomorrow is cooking club, and it sounds like it is going to be delicious!  Now I need to find a snack to hold me over tonight::)

I feel funny getting on here to say that I don't really have anything to say.  I'm aggravated that the pictures won't load because that is boring.  And that is it!

Only Two More Games!

We are one step closer to Joel cutting off his hair!  I would be so happy if it were cut by our anniversary!

Both of my doctor appointments went well today.  That was really the majority of the day so I don't really have anything else to tell! 

No one lit anything on fire today so that was good. 

Joel brought me home Snicker's ice cream so I need to go eat that now:)

Pilly tried to burn down the house

What a day!  I finally was able to get this blood work done for my appointment tomorrow afternoon.  I went yesterday, and after waiting for about 20-25 minutes, they called me back and realized my insurance wouldn't pay to have blood work done in their office.  So I had to come home to relieve Joel of the girls and go today instead.  The annoying thing was I had to do it fasting, so I had to fast two nights in a row.  I was really hungry this morning! 

We dropped Joel off at work before going, and he gave me muffins to eat for my breakfast.  They were huge, and I only ate one and told the girls they could split the other one at lunch time.  I put the container on the stove, and for some reason, Pilly went over later and turned the gas burner right under that plastic muffin container on.  The thing caught on fire and I had to throw it in the sink!  Pnut was mad that they couldn't eat the muffin.  I don't know what possessed Pilly!!  She has never messed with those before.  I doubt she will again!  Thank goodness I was down here because she could have caught the whole house on fire!

Joel's team won their first softball play-off game last night.  Tomorrow night it would be amazing if we win because we are going to be playing the best team in the league.  They are actually seated #2, but Joel thinks they are better than the #1 team.  I am praying that we win the whole thing because if we do Joel is going to let them cut off his hair and beard! 

Because it is 40 million degrees, we haven't really been going outside.  After blood work, we did stop at the Monster Playground (we were the only ones there *surprise, surprise*), and the girls played for about 1/2 hour, but we left before 9:00 this morning.  It is warm in our house even with the air and we were all kind of cranky from the heat.  To cool the girls down, I looked up a recipe for homemade bathtub paint and they played in the bathtub painting the walls until they dumped it into the water and just mixed it around.  The recipe is:
1/2 c clear dish soap
1 t corn starch
food coloring

There was enough that I separated it into four bowls and we had all four colors to paint with.  They really liked it and wanted to know if we could do it every day.  Ha!

So it's two appointments tomorrow and another game then an amusement park on Friday with another game in the evening and Pnut's birthday party on Saturday with her friends.  Could someone schedule me a nap in there please?

A Weekend of Fun

We had a very full weekend!  Anthony and Pnut shared a birthday party on Saturday.  Joel's family drove up and we all went to my parents' house.  It was fun, and the kids really had a blast.  Sunday, we went back over (minus Joel's family) to spend some more time with Anthony and Laine (and everyone else;p).  The girls were so worn out by the time we got home.  They were swimming and playing on the slip 'n slide and throwing water balloons and just being silly in general.  We actually had to force Pilly out of the slip 'n slide because her lips were blue and she was shaking so bad.  She was so cold but didn't want to stop being thrown down the slide!  We saw a few fireworks on the way home, but we didn't go anywhere.  I don't think the girls actually would enjoy them very much.  We could hear them from the closest place they were being set off when we were walking to our house, and the girls were very concerned.  They wanted to get inside so the fireworks couldn't get them. 

Today I went to get more blood work done.  I have an appointment Thursday afternoon, and the office called Friday evening to let me know that I had to get fasting blood work done.  Their office is right down the street, so thankfully I can get there early and not have to wait too long for breakfast.  I tried to go this morning, but apparently they weren't open!  I'll try again tomorrow I guess.  It would have been perfect today because Joel had off of work so he could stay with the girls and it didn't really matter how long it took.  Now, I will feel rushed because I'll need to get back so he can leave for work.  I've never been to this office before, and I don't really want to have to take the girls with me.

The first play-off game is tomorrow, and the heat index is supposed to hover right around 100.  Lovely.  Oh well, it will still be exciting.  And perhaps we won't mind very much when it is all over because it is so hot!

I'm going to go enjoy our air conditioning now! 

Oh My Aching Legs:)

Last night we taught at church, and we played SPUD with the kids.  Today, my muscles are so sore!  I really stretched my legs!  I was just excited that they knew how to  play as I thought it was a made-up game that we played.:) 

Tonight was the final game of the regular softball season and now we are off to the play-offs.  It will be exciting for sure! 

So now I am going to go rest my poor tired legs!  Have a great weekend!
