Fun Friday!

Last night, Carolyn came over and we played with beads and talked. The time goes so fast! We are always shocked when Joel calls. I made a necklace to match my skirt that I will hopefully finish someday!



We both really like bronze. I love this color green! I hope that I can find a shirt to match!

My mom got the girls each a flashing shirt, and they love them!



It is so funny to see them smacking their bellies and each others to get the shirts to flash.



Pnut was very excited about hers because she loves Minnie and Mickey Mouse.

Before Carolyn came and after Joel left, we all painted our toes. Pnut loves to have her fingers and toes painted. Pilly thought we were crazy for blowing on her feet, but she didn't mind:)



This morning, Pnut came to our room at 4:30 and was chattering away. She laid by Joel for a little while, but she wouldn't be quiet so he took her downstairs. He said they laid down here for a while. He had told her yesterday that they would go get donuts this morning so they eventually left to do that. I think she was pretty excited about it and that she didn't want to go back to sleep!



She enjoyed her chocolate-covered donut quite a bit!



Pilly was quite excited about her powdered sugar mess. She gobbled down every bite!

Today, my MIL and BIL are coming up. They are bringing our couch from Ikea! We are getting pizza for lunch so Pnut is excited about that. Lunch also happens to be close to Joann's, and I have two blankets and a bib in mind to make! It should be a fun day!

Silly Girls

I've noticed that things are a little slow around the blogosphere lately. I think this is the winter-is-almost over rut. I know I personally am a little burnt out from all that I did over the holidays and stuff and I just feel like resting! I have some things I am working on, but I guess that the mad rush is over and I feel that I can do it at a relaxed pace now. I do want that skirt by Sunday though. I ripped out all the bad stitches. I then laid on the couch and watched TV. I'll sew it sometime!

We cleaned at my mom's today. They have kitty cats there, much to Pilly's delight. She said quite clearly, "I see a kitty cat." She also said monkey today.



When we got home, she acted like a crazy maniac and ran around and made silly faces.



This is a very silly picture. She kept moving so I had a hard time even getting one. She leaned up against the brick wall, and the dust from the crumbling bricks is all over her sleeve. Don't worry, I wouldn't take a picture of her if she had a cut that big on her arm!

Now, to bed. Hopefully for a night of undisturbed sleep. Ha!

Late Night Awakeness Leads to...Not Much!

Today not much was accomplished. Pilly decided to be up from 12:15-2:15 last night. I guess she was hungry and she finally did settle down in our bed after some cheerios. I don't like to sleep with her because she is still too wiggly and I am afraid she will fall out of bed!

I still didn't finish that skirt! I tried to fix it, and instead I made a different mistake and have to rip some more stitches. I am getting lots of use out of the seam ripper right now!

Is it weird that I like to do the dishes or other activities in the kitchen because I can smell the garlic in the cupboard? I love the smell of garlic!

Pilly has the cutest little nose. It is still a baby nose and so tiny and adorable.

Pnut has been so sweet lately telling us she loves us all the time and playing so nicely with us. She is working on getting better with Pilly and using her kind voice and sharing. We are also working on whining. But she is a sweetheart. She is excited to go to here Granna and Pap's tomorrow.

I need to take some more pictures of these kids! Put that at the top of my to-do list!!

Quiznos is Lame!

Sunday night, Joel got an online coupon for Quiznos. It was for a free sub, and he was pretty excited. He doesn't usually eat lunch, and he doesn't really like Quiznos, or hasn't been impressed in the past anyways. So he goes to one near us on Monday and sees a sign on the door: We do not accept these coupons. They have printed pictures of all these different coupons. Not just ones off the internet but also the ones that are printed in the paper. He decides to try the other one that he will pass during his route. They also have a sign with some coupons, but the one he has is not on it so he goes in. He tells the guy behind the counter that he has it. He is told that they don't accept them there. Then the guy says, "If you want a free meal, go to Salvation Army." Isn't that nice?! Joel says, "Fair enough." The guy replies, "Yeah. That is what this is about. Being fair to everyone." What in the world? If they don't want people to use coupons, why are they printing them. Joel emailed Quiznos but hasn't heard back. I doubt that we will ever eat there. I think he should write a letter to the editor so others will know because that is embarassing to be treated that way!

Joel and I spent a nice evening together tonight, which is not something we often do. However, we ended it in a not so pleasant way with Joel's twisted "Would You Rather" game. Would you rather if I lick you or drool on you? If I whisper in your ear or blow on your neck? Tickle your arm or your leg? It is like his own personal form of torturing me! What a turkey:)

I got my hair cut tonight. It hasn't been cut since September. I always think that maybe I want to grow it out like it used to be, but once it gets a few inches down my back, I think that I am crazy. I just don't like it like that. So it is just above my shoulders again. She tapered it around my face, but I liked it more the last time. I had a different person last time and she made more of a softer taper. This is a little more choppy I think. At least it will grow out!

Have you ever had Cherry Cider? Oh my. I'm pretty sure that they have that in Heaven. It is apple cider flavored with cherry juice and is just wonderful. Our local orchard makes it. I only by a small container because it is expensive, but the girls love it! I try to only drink a little since they like it so much. It doesn't last for long. I am thinking about buying some for my secret sister because it is such a good treat!

Curtains!

Taking pictures of the girls' curtains was not quite as easy as I expected. Now, we all know that I am not a great photographer to begin with. Add in the awkward way the rooms are set up, and the results are not so superb!



I really like the way the pink looks against the yellow walls.



I think the two different patterns make a nice contrast.



Today was a pretty uneventful day. I took a bath tonight to relax. Joel brought me a new Ted Dekker book home the other day and I read it. I ended up being in there an hour and Joel came to make sure I hadn't drowned. That Ted Dekker is a wonderful writer. The kind that you can't put down!

Weekend Update

The girls got to wear their new skirts today. I found red shirts at Wal-Mart. I tried to take their picture before church this morning, and they cried. They are so weird. Then Pnut did this when I tried to take her picture this evening:



What a turkey! Pilly was much more cooperative:)



I did get a picture of that silly one when she didn't know I was taking it.



They looked pretty cute! We got Pilly's picture taken yesterday at Picture Innovations, and they turned out so wonderful! I had such a hard time choosing the pose. If I had a scanner, I would put one in, but I don't.

We also went to Ikea, and picked out the fold-out couch for our basement. It was too big for our car so Joel's brother is going to bring it up next weekend.

After church, we went to lunch with my parents and sister at Cactus Willie's. Yum! Pnut was mean to her Pap and wouldn't sit by him. She is goofy. She likes it when he chases her around and teases her, but he can't do anything else. Pilly got to sit across from him instead, and I think she liked that. He gave her cookies. He is her new best friend.

I worked on a skirt tonight, and hopefully will finish it tomorrow. I didn't expect it to take this long, but I had some issues. Surprise! (HA) I also hung the girls curtains. I took pictures, but I want to try again tomorrow when there is light in the room from outside. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday. Yuck! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Gingerbread Waffles

3 C. all-purpose flour
4 t. baking powder
2 t. ground cinnamon
2 t. ground ginger
1/2 t. freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 t. salt
4 large eggs
2/3 C. packed brown sugar
1 C. pumpkin puree
1 1/4 C. milk
1/2 C. molasses
1/2 C. melted butter

Preheat waffle iron

1. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients.
2. In a medium bowl, beat eggs and brown sugar until fluffy, then beat in pumpkin, milk, molasses, and melted butter.
3. Stire the wet into dry until just moist. Do not overstir the batter.
4. Grease waffle iron and put batter on. Repeat until finished.

Notes: We had these this morning for breakfast, and they were delicious. We didn't have any nutmeg to go in, and I forgot the cinnamon, and they still tasted great! They were moist and sweet. We didn't even put syrup on them. You can use either canned pumpkin or your own puree.

The recipe says it will make 4 waffles. I guess that must be a huge waffle maker because mine made 13! I have a circular one, and I don't think it is smaller than a normal one. So, you can cut the recipe!! We will freeze them, I just hope they aren't freezer burnt by the time we get to the last ones.

We are going to get Pilly's picture taken and then to Baltimore tomorrow so we will be away for the day tomorrow. Tonight, Carolyn is going to help me sort out all of my jewelry-making problems. She just doesn't know it yet:) Have a great day and weekend.

Jewelry

Today, Pnut and I did a finger painting. Pilly just had to watch. She still eats everything. I thought of the idea last night. I know that it is not original with me. I tore off a piece of wax paper and she painted on that. Then after it was dry, we hung it up on the window, and it looks really cool! Next time, I might put things on like trees or flowers for her to paint in. We also all three had another tea party today. They really enjoy those. We had a nice day together. I am so glad that everything is back to normal. We are still working on adjusting attitudes, but that will come!

I wanted to show you all what is blooming on our table:



I forget what it is called. I have good news though! It is almost impossible to kill. I am a master killer of indoor plants, and I have only watered it three times since I planted it three weeks ago. The thing grew like an inch every two hours! I thought it looked taller every time I walked into the kitchen.

I am enjoying having Carolyn's jewelry making stuff. I am very slow. Veerryy! Last night, I made one bracelet. I had to redo it tonight because it wasn't quite long enough on the ends to tie. Then when I tried to tie it, even with two knots, it would come untied when I put it on. So Lynn will have to help me with that. Here are the two bracelets I did:



They are on stretchy string-stuff so that they fit snugly on your arm. I like that they won't slide up and down and won't fall off over my hand!

I also worked on a necklace:



I really like it! The pearl beads are a blue-gray. I love pearl beads! However, one of my little anchors fell off so now three of them are sliding and I am probably going to have to start over. Maybe I should stick to sewing!

Heavens to mergetroid, I am cold! I need to get upstairs and in bed beside my husband the furnace! Have a great night:)

Just Silly Chatter

Have you ever had a night where you know you technically got enough sleep, but you just aren't rested? That was my night last night. I had some bad dreams. Not nightmares, just bad dreams. I woke up slightly cranky, made worse by the fact that Joel told me I had to get out of bed instead of letting me lay there until he was ready to walk out the door. :P Pnut also emptied part of her pajama drawer during this time. I could see her in it from our bedroom, but I didn't have the energy to go stop her. I later found Ernie in her shirt drawer. So the whole day I have just felt tired all day, and that is yucky!! I also couldn't lay down because that doctor dictated for 93 minutes. Four more days and I should be done with him!

I got to drive the car today!!:) It was so nice! It felt safe. The gear shift is cool. It looks old. Fun stuff!

We had an appointment today and the girls were weighed and measured and tested for iron. Pnut is 24.5 pounds, which is the 0 percentile, and is 36 inches tall, which is the 55th percentile. Pilly is 18.5 pounds, which is the 1st percentile, and is 29.5 inches tall, which is the 48th percentile. I am not sure what happened because she used to be in the 80th percentile. Oh well, I still think she is tall! Pnut's iron was low (big shocker there). That kid is so stinking picky. She doesn't like eggs anymore. Pilly's was fine. They also tested her lead, and we will find that out later. That was not fun. She was so good, never made a peep. Her little hands are always so cold, and she seems to have poor circulation in them. This means that the nurse could not find the vein. She thought she had one, and she inserted the needle into her hand and couldn't get anything out. Pilly didn't cry or even wiggle. Finally, she pricked her finger and squeezed it out drop by drop into a tube. Hopefully that comes back fine. She puts so much stuff into her mouth, but I don't think we have any lead paint here!

Tonight I am going to play with some beads. Carolyn let me borrow all of her beading stuff, which is lots of fun. Supposedly it was to keep her from being tempted to do that instead of write her paper, but she is just super-nice and wanted me to take them so came up with a silly reason. I need to do something with them before she comes over Friday!

Tomorrow we have to drive back to where we got the car, which is about 35 miles away, and take the title for our other car. We forgot it when we went yesterday. Thankfully they still let us have our new car! Looks like another busy day.

New car!

Exciting news...we just bought a car tonight! It is new to us, a 2003 PT Cruiser. It only has 41,000 miles and we got a really good deal on it. We are so thankful not to have a "broken car." Pnut would announce that our car was broken every time we got in it. I think she was a little worried whenever we went anywhere. I am thankful to have an attached muffler, working heat, two turn signals that work, and non-cracked CV joints!

The girls are still up. Pilly took a nap in the car on the way back and Pnut took a 3.5 hour nap this afternoon. I don't think I will get any sewing done tonight. I have been staying up too late these past few nights and am ready to fall asleep now!

Pillowcase and Pants

I finally got to sew something again tonight. I also talked on the phone for two hours at the same time. Nikki is very tolerant and didn't mind the sewing machine going in the background. We had gotten the last of a bolt of Mickey Mouse fabric from Wal-Mart for pretty cheap, and I told Pnut I would make her something with it. I knew there was enough for a pillow case. There was enough fabric left over that I made her a pair of pants. I have never made pants before. It was relatively easy. I just traced around another pair and sewed them up! Pretty fun. Hopefully, she will agree to wear them for pajamas. I am not sure that we want to be seen in public with these. Maybe she will think the pillow case and pants go together so she can only wear them to bed. Maybe. But she thinks that she should be able to wear her pajamas all day so...I may just be up the creek on this one.



We finally were able to make our Valentine's Day cookies tonight. We had a lot of fun. I iced them, Pnut put the sprinkles on, and Pilly ate them. Maybe we will just have Valentine's week.

Lastly, I just had to share this picture. Aren't they sweet. They are watching Jon and Kate Plus Eight. Pnut loves "the kids."



Not my favorite show, but at least it is clean!

Fun Friday Night!

Carolyn and I got to go out tonight!! Joel didn't go to basketball so he watched the girls and we actually got to go somewhere. We went to a little local cafe/shop and got kicked out. Apparently they close at 7:00. We left around 7:15ish. Then we went to Pier 1 and I got some fun stuff!! I bought a pretty blue glass pitcher and an oil diffuser with three wooden flowers as the diffuser. I would take pictures, but we know how good I am at that so you can just use your imagination. I am borrowing Carolyn's bead stuff. I love it! I'll have to keep you all updated on the things I make.

Twirly Skirts

First of all, I have to tell you all the big news...my friend Cheryl had her baby today! I am so excited to go see him. Hopefully tomorrow:) He was 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Wow! That is 4 pounds, 2 ounces more than Pnut was!!

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days, but Pilly, Joel, and I all got Pnut's stomach bug. It was terrible. I hate that stuff. But we are all better now so that is good.

I made the girls their Valentine's Day skirts today. They are really just red and white, but they were special for Valentine's Day. I made them both at the same time. They were really easy, and I used this tutorial.



Pnut was very excited about hers before Sesame Street came on. I finished it during Sesame Street and she was rather nonchalant about it then.



Yes, she does wear that shirt every chance she gets. She loves Mickey Mouse.

Pilly was just happy to have her picture taken. I guess I haven't been doing that enough lately. When I turned the camera on to take Pnut's pitcure, she started smiling and being silly. What a cutie.



I am hoping to get red shirts for them and put some of the extra fabric around the sleeves and hem to make it match the skirts. White shirts would probably be too plain, but that is all they have now.

I wanted to show you this decal I won a while ago. I'll be honest, I forget where I won it. It was quite a while ago. But we finally put it up on the wall. When I say we, I mean Joel. I supervised.



I love the owl in the tree. I should put pictures of our house up because I said I would. I keep waiting until everything gets done. The waiting could be for a long time. I did finish the girls' curtains and am hoping to find the rods and rings this weekend so we can get them up. We are also checking out a car (yay!) this weekend.

I guess I should go get ready for bed. I don't know if I will be able to sleep. I am so excited about that baby! Have a great night!

Heart Mobile

I finished my first heart mobile tonight! I am very pleased with how it turned out! I actually got the idea from this Pottery Barn kids mobile, which they are selling for $35. Are they crazy?! This was so inexpensive. The wreath only cost 99 cents! The fabric pieces I had to buy were so small and then just some ribbon (which I got at Wal-Mart for so cheap)!

I thought I would do a walk-through. I guess you could call it a tutorial, but my pictures are not that great and it is pretty easy to figure out!



First I cut all the hearts out of the material with my pinking shears. I just printed heart patterns from here and used the two biggest sizes. Try to be careful cutting them out, but if they aren't exactly right, it doesn't matter too much. When you sew, the edges come apart a little anyways and you can't tell they aren't evenly matched.



I laid them out to decide what pattern I wanted. Now, I would change it and switch the striped red for the flower red so that the two stripes would not be right next to each other. Oh well.



I started sewing a little above the bottom and then stuck the ribbon in between the two pieces of fabric at the top.



I then sewed about three quarters of the way around and stuffed it. Don't stuff it too full, just make it poofy.



When I got around to the bottom, I again stuck a ribbon in. This is why you start slightly above the bottom. When I first did it, I started right at the bottom and then my ribbon wasn't centered. I liked the ribbon like this instead of the way they had it from Pottery Barn.



With the next heart, you have to take the ribbon from the bottom of the first heart and stick it in the top of the second heart.



When you have them all sewn on, loop the ribbon around the wreath and hand sew.



I sewed a ribbon on top to hang it with and voila!



Here is a close-up of the top. When you are attaching the ribbon to hang it, make sure it balances before you sew it on!

I put about five inches in between each heart. I meant for the strings with two hearts to be staggered with the ones with three hearts, but I underestimated how much ribbon I needed for the top and they ended up the same. I had about 2.5 inches to go around my wreath, but that will vary. This one is for my Secret Sister at Bible study. I want to make one for the girls, but I have to get some more ribbon. Plus my back needs a break.

For the women in my Bible study small group, I made these heart cookies. It is amazing how fun something can look just stuck in a cellophane bag with some pretty ribbon!



Poor little Pnut had the stomach bug. She threw up eight times last night. It was a long night. Thankfully, there was no work for me to do today. She seemed better tonight and was playing with Pilly. I hope no one else gets it!

New Project

We went to JoAnn's tonight, and all of the Valentine's Day fabric was gone! I couldn't believe it. I am not sure if I will get to make the girls love not pillows or not. It depends how much fabric I have left over from my new project, which I started tonight. No, I haven't tacked those curtains yet. I will get to it sometime. The new project involves these:



And I have to have it done by tomorrow night because I am giving it to my secret sister on Tuesday. Or I hope I am. Maybe the doctor won't see any patients tomorrow. Ha!

Time to fold some clothes and then go to bed!

Weekend Update

I ended up working until 9:50 last evening and didn't get to sew anything! I emailed my boss after doing another 87 minute dictation today and asked how long this will go on. I can't keep it up. I am worn out!! My brain has stopped functioning well when I am typing :P.

In other news, Carolyn came over yesterday and we finally exchanged Christmas gifts!! She gave me a gift certificate to Pier 1. Oh my. We are going tomorrow afternoon after nap. She got the girls stuff to make necklaces and bracelets. Of course Pilly cannot do it yet, but Pnut is loving it! She is doing really well stringing the beads.



Isn't that a goofy face? She was supposed to smile...I am not sure what happened. We made a necklace last night, but some silly mom cut the string too short so we are going to have to take it apart.



Daddy and Pnut made a necklace and a bracelet today. She wore them quite a bit. She loves, and I mean LOVES, the star beads. They will probably be all gone very quickly. She has not seen the other ones glow in the dark yet. So thanks Lynn, it was a great gift!

Joel and I watched a movie together tonight called Hot Rod. It was really silly and I laughed a lot. No Mom, you would not like it. It was nice to spend some time together, even if we just laid on the couch and watched a movie. Usually, Joel plays a game on the XBox and I sew or work.

We also went to Wal-Mart tonight. The fabric is now 50% off, but it is almost all gone!! There was not any Valentine's Day fabric left. What?! I was just there a little over a week ago! They have not put any of the extras on sale like scissors or rotary cutters. It is still only by-the-yard stuff, but it is supposed to be totally gone by sometime in March so probably soon!

Well, I think I will go work on these curtains a little more. I still have two to finish tacking down with the slip stitch. Have a great night!

Almost Done!

I actually had enough binding to do all three curtain panels last night so that was exciting! I am now slipstitching them to the other side. I was only able get one done during Lost. I will probably only do one tonight as well. It takes longer than it looks like it should!

Basically all I have done all day is working. I am still covering the extra account. Thankfully, today's dictation was only 82 minutes instead of 103 like the other day, but my regular doctor saw 18 patients so that is making up some extra time. Hopefully I will be finished by 9:00. Not only do I want to watch The Office, but I start typing funny if I work too late!

I wanted to mention a new blogger tonight! I went to high school with Steph and she has been reading my blog and thought it looked like fun. You should go visit her over at Random Thought Bubbles and leave her some love. You should leave me some love too...all you lurkers. You don't have to have a profile to leave a comment!!:) I am impressed that anyone reads this. I sure can write a lot without saying much!

I also wanted to mention a CD we recently got. Well, Pilly got it for her birthday. It is called Slugs, Bugs, and Lullabies byAndrew Peterson. We like Andrew Peterson a lot. This is his only children's CD. He is a Christian singer and sings in a style similar to Rich Mullins. The CD is lots of fun with songs like Bears, Bears, Post Office Song, and Tractor, Tractor. There is also a really sweet song called Beautiful Girl that makes me want to cry every time I hear it. It is a good thing I never hear it with Joel around. That man is so unemotional. Hopefully, I will be finishing up these curtains so that we can move on to the new projects I have running around my head. I have been on sort of a recipe slump lately and haven't tried anything new. I was thinking about something fun for breakfast tomorrow...just depends if those girls behave. I will try to spice things up here!! Have a great night:)

Be Afraid of Chickens No More!

I am afraid of chickens. Not only the living, breathing, people-chasing bird, but also the dead ones that you have to cook. They intimidate me. Roasting a whole chicken?! That is serious stuff. I don't want to undercook it and have us all die of food poisoning. But today I cooked one all by myself. And I am still here to tell of it. Joel discovered a site awhile ago called amateur gourmet. He has a wonderful tutorial video about cooking chicken so that it comes out moist. It is different than I have seen it done before. The link to the chicken part is here. It only took 1 h, 45 m to cook a 7 pound chicken. That seems short to me. The breast meat is moist and delicious. It is covered in salt so you know that is good. He also puts potatoes in the pan and they are so yummy. Be intimidated by the dead birds no more! I can't say anything about the live ones though.

Tonight, my plan is to sew the binding on two more curtain panels and hopefully finish them. I have to get one more thing of binding to do the last panel. I am hoping to go to JoAnn's soon. I have this really cool Valentine's Day idea that I want to share. I just love Valentine's Day!

My little baby is not feeling so well. She is looking like the Pnut did the other night so I am going to go cuddle her on the couch while we watch the first part of Sesame Street.

What a day!

I was sitting at the computer typing, and I thought it smelled like someone was cooking. I am working on a 103 minute dictation so I am trying to focus and the girls were finally being good and quiet. The smell continued to get stronger so I turned around and saw this:



That would be all of our garlic salt. Wow. It smells pretty bad in here now. I had a hard time not laughing. I told her if she ever did it again, she was going to get in trouble. She must have climbed up on a chair and gotten it out of the spice rack. Pilly is now licking the empty jar. Hey, garlic is good for you...

This has just been one of those days. The muffler fell partially off the car this morning on my way to my mom's to clean so I had to come home. I have this super-long dictation on top of my other work. Pilly has gotten Pnut's cold pretty bad and is not sleeping well. She would rather if I just held her and she slept like that. Also, Pnut was in our bed like 10 times last night. I would wake up, find her and take her back to her bed. Then, she would be back the next time I woke up. I hope it doesn't sound like I am complaining, it has just been a rough day! At least the Garlic Incident was funny.

So now they are enteratining themselves with the empty container so I am going to try to get back to work!

One Done!

I finally finished one panel of the curtains for the girls' room! Only three to go! They should go more quickly though. My mom took the panel home with her and came up with three different scalloped edges to try. She made them varying in curviness. I had to do the least curvy one to make the binding lay flat. It looks nice though. Once they are all done, I will post a picture. They need to be hanging up to see how it really looks! I am just thankful to finally be making progress with these! I have other things I want to work on:)

My favorite secondhand store for children's clothing is having their winter dollar sale. Everything is between $1-4 depending on what its original price was. I bought some 4T clothes. Pnut is only 2, but I have 3T from a friend. I got $37 worth of clothes for $10. That is always exciting!!

Tomorrow is looking like a pretty busy day. I am covering an extra account for work (please God don't let him dictate tonight) and I am cleaning for my mom. The extra account is the guy who dictates for up to 2 hours, never less than 1 so it is a lot! But maybe he didn't see anyone today. Ha!

Pilly's Party

We had Pilly's birthday party yesterday, and everyone had a lot of fun. I made my first attempt at a special cupcake. Lets hope my children don't expect much through the years...or maybe I will calling my friend Cheryl who made Elsie's cake! I have this book, and I made the horse cupcakes. They didn't turn out exactly like the book, but they were close enough!



Here is the whole herd. They yellow and green cupcakes are grass and hay.



The heads were Circus Peanuts and the necks were sugar wafer cookies.



They were very sugary. Seriously, Pilly laid down for her nap after eating, and when I went up 30 minutes later, she was running around the inside of her pack and play!



Here she is in her special birthday girl hat! She is the third child to wear that in the last 1.5 years!



We did gifts first because she was going to be getting messy!



She got several books for her birthday. We like to read!



Pilly is fascinated with this popper! Thankfully, it isn't too loud!

She really wasn't too messy by the end! She only ate a little bit more before I took it away. She liked the icing the best, I think.



I just wanted to show you all how much she was enjoying her new books. On top of the table...at least she is interested in reading!
