Only 3 days left....

I wrapped all of the presents that we have at this time tonight that I hadn't gotten done the other time.  I learned (or really just confirmed) that I am not very good at wrapping presents, especially things that aren't in boxes.  As long as it is all covered, I'm happy.  It is not pretty!  I also learned that I am getting old.  Sitting on the floor for a long time is really hard on my knees and makes my back ache.  Great.  But hey, it's all done now!  I have a few more things to get for Joel and probably one more thing for LB, and that should be it!  Yay!!!

Tomorrow we will be celebrating LB's birthday with Joel's family.  His birthday is Thursday.  I can't handle it. My baby, my sweet baby is going to be one!  Tonight, Joel was letting him feed himself chocolate pudding with his spoon.  He was doing a pretty good job, sadly enough!

Gingerbread Garland

Joel was sick today, but not as sick as the girls.  He mostly just laid in bed and made moaning noises.  Ugh.  I'm so over this!  I'm holding out hope that LB and I won't get it.  It is taking forever for us to be over it!

In other news, we made our gingerbread garland today.  My original plan was to make gingerbread men cookies and poke holes in their hands with a straw before baking them.  Then we would make some icing and decorate with sprinkles and stuff.  And then I looked up the directions for gingerbread, and that all went out the window.  Let's be realistic.  I don't have time for that nonsense!  So we made them out of foam and glitter, which the girls loved, and this way they won't attract bugs.  Heaven knows we don't need that!

It is really cute.  I'm not sure if I like it hanging there, and I've already moved it once so it may move again.  It is festive and fun though!

Someone was up to his usual naughtiness today:

Here he is eating a cracker that he stole out of the package his daddy let sitting around.  He's not even ashamed of his bad behavior...he came out to show me he had it!  (As a side note, do you have any idea how hard it is to get a non-blurry picture of this kid?  He moves around way too much!)  Do you like the way his hair is sticking straight out from his head.  Pnut touched his head and said, "oh, his head isn't wet."  Then I had to tell her that was because he was putting food in his hair at supper and it stuck out like that.  Lovely.

Sickness has overtaken our household!

Tuesday morning Pnut woke up with a stomach bug and then Pilly got it last night.  We have had movie days for the past two days, and I am totally ready to get back to normal.  I'm praying so hard that no one else gets it.  These days have been so slow without anything really going on, and the girls were both feeling pretty good by tonight and were getting quite crazy, although they still went to bed early and fell asleep quickly.  I think they got sick because I happily said to Joel Monday night that we were going to get 5 days of school in this week.  *Sigh*  C'est la vie!

Decorating the Tree

We put our tree up yesterday, and it was a lot of fun because I pretty much had to do nothing!  Joel set it up, and then the girls decorated the whole thing.  I put a few things near the top, but they put almost everything on. 

Someone put almost all of the ornaments in the same place so the tree is pretty heavy in the front!  You can see a candle with tissue paper there are the bottom, that is from the Truth in the Tinsel book that we are doing for advent.  We've never done an advent activity before, and it has been really fun and exciting.  We just started yesterday and are doing two a day until tomorrow when we get all caught up. 

Pnut took charge of decorating the top part of the tree and was very particular about where things went.

And LB just interfered with everyone, but he has been great about not taking stuff off the tree now that it is hung up!  Isn't he stylish??

Much Better Day!

Today was a much better day than yesterday.  Pnut had her choir concert at a local nursing home this morning at 9 so the other two and I went to JoAnn's, which I learned is expanding in a mighty way (!), and then to the mall to play on the indoor playground.  We came home and did our usual stuff, and then this afternoon we worked on pipe cleaner and bead snowflakes.  I'll take some pictures when they are hung up.  The girls are really enjoying them, and it is using up our massive supply of beads!  I learned that I have a problem not making a pattern, and over the past few days in doing projects with the girls, I have learned that Pilly is much faster than Pnut at projects and not necessarily sloppy.  This is interesting because she is much slower at other things, things like eating.  But anyways, I'll take pictures once they are hung up, probably in the kids' room.

I am so thankful for how much our children love each other and enjoy being together.  They pick but they don't fight very much, and overall they are so sweet to each other.  One of my most favorite things about them is how excited the girls get pretty much every time they see LB.  Tonight, for example, they were in the bath tub, and I brought him upstairs and set him on the floor.  He walked into the bathroom, and they both squealed and told him how cute he is and all other sorts of silliness.  It's so funny.  They can walk out of a room, walk right back in, and be excited to see him again.  Sweet.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  We are relatively busy and hopefully doing our Christmas tree on Sunday so it should be a fun weekend!
