So when I said I was only going to blog when I had something to blog about, I didn't mean to take this much of a break all the time!  We have just been really busy but not necessarily blog-worthy busy.  So now I am trying to decide what to do with this blog.  It has been a lot of fun, but at the same time, I'm not as motivated to do it as I was.  I guess it could just continue on in the random way I have been.  It will probably be more homeschooling stuff if I get myself organized.  We'll see. 

Meanwhile, Pnut's birthday party that Joel's mom gave her was Saturday and we had a really good time!  My MIL made her this neat cake:

Summer Fun Idea

I saw this on Pinterest the other day so we did it today:

I froze colored cubes of water and then let the kids put them in buckets of water to melt.  We had done just food coloring in water to play with one time, but they liked this because they could pick the ice cubes up themselves.  And LB mostly had fun squirting everyone with the hose.

Some Cuteness

First for some cuteness:

He wouldn't look at the camera, but he was super-cute!  He looks like he could be from 1930.  He still loves those trains and played with them for at least an hour.

We found this guy in the backyard and observed him for a while:

He is a Yellow Swallowtail Butterfly.  I don't know if his wings were wet or what, but for a while he wasn't flying very well.  Then he was gone.  We enjoyed his visit!

Happy Birthday Pnut!

I'm not sure how we got to six years old already, but here we are!  We love you so much!

Cherry Crest

We had our first Cherry Crest trip of the year last week, and it was really fun!  They have a new Discovery Barn, which LB loved because there is a table with little tractors on it.  The animal section is also set up differently this year so that you can see them a little easier.  We had a really fun day, and we actually didn't get to do a lot of things so the girls are looking forward to their return trip!  Oh, and LB and both girls loved the chicks.  I thought we were never going to get away from there!

Black Bottom Cupcakes

I'm not actually going to post the recipe to these, I"m just linking it here because I'm lazy like that.  They were good, but we would like them to be a little more dense and moist.  Not entirely sure how to accomplish that. 

Tonight our children went to be around 8:00, which is late for them but we were out.  Around 8:50, Pnut came to the stairs and said they were cleaning up their room.  She came back five minutes later to tell me it was done and I should come see.  I've never seen them do such a good job in such a short amount of time before.  Apparently the best time to clean your room is when you should be sleeping.  I'll keep that in mind.  Hey, I'm just happy it is clean!

We had our first day of first grade today!  It went very well, and we all enjoyed it very much.  We went to the playground at 7:45 and came back at 9:00 for LB's nap.  Then we did school.  Pilly was excited to use her new workbooks and Pnut flew through the things she had to do.  We were done by them time we had to wake LB up, which is after an hour.  Wonderful.  I'll try to write about our new curriculum soon, but now I am going to break my dessert rule that I recently imposed and eat a cupcake.  Have a great night!

The Foutain

Today we walked downtown to a fountain that shoots up out of the ground and is made for playing in.  The kids wore their swimming suits, and we had a really good time!  We were gone for about two hours, and I got really good naps out of it...LB slept for 4.5 hours, and I finally woke him up!  Perfect!

It is incredibly hard to take pictures of children who are jumping all over the place!
